How to add/ delete/ update a trusted account on CDSL easiest?

The CDSL easiest account allows you to transfer the shares electronically from your demat account to another demat account. However, before transferring any shares, you must add the demat account of the person to whom you wish to transfer to your Trusted Beneficiary Owner (BO) List.

One way of adding the trusted account is when you register for CDSL easiest account, which is explained here, How to register for CDSL easiest using the ATS demat account?.But, If you already have CDSL easiest account, then follow the instructions to add a trusted account:

  • visit: https://web.cdslindia.com/myeasinew/home/loginand loging
  • Under Miscellaneous Tab, click on ‘Edit Trusted Account.
  • You can see the list of all Trusted BO IDs already added to the list (if any). You can delete the existing account by clicking on the delete button. (Deletion will take 24-48 working hours depending on your DP).
  • To add the new account, click on ‘Add Trusted Account’.

  • Enter the 16-digit demat account number where stocks need to be transferred and click on submit. See, What is my demat account number? Where can I check my demat ID?

CAREFUL: Please double-check the demat account number because shares, once transferred to the incorrect demat account, cannot be reversed.

  • Once submitted, the trusted list will show the new account with the status ‘Pending for authentication’. This request will now be submitted to your broker, and once authenticated, the account will be ready for transfer. See, How to transfer shares from ATS demat account through easiest?
